Background

After graduation from Columbia Law School, Randel moved to Los Angeles and worked for a large litigation firm.  He also began his career as an investor.

Starting with a small two-family house (Seller financed), Randel began his self-education as a real-estate owner.

Marrying a woman from Connecticut and having their first child, the family moved East and Randel took a job with a litigation firm in Fairfield County.  And, he ramped up his investing.

Backed by a money partner, the two investors began house flipping before there was a name for it.  Transitioning into commercial ventures, Randel started buying small office buildings and retail properties.

Over time, the scope of his projects became larger including more than one million SF of real estate purchases and developments.

Throughout this period, Randel continued to practice law and his clientele grew as his reputation for business successes spread through Connecticut.

Randel also began investing in start-ups when he and a partner co-founded a brand of children's shoes and began selling online.  This business led to an e-commerce marketing company that was eventually purchased by a NY Stock Exchange company.  Since then Randel has founded or invested in more than 20 start-ups or early-venture companies.

Today, Randel is involved with both real estate ventures (retail, office, and hospitality) and start-ups (e-commerce, health, finance).
